Verata is the first Necromancer Profession Trainer in Pre-Searing Ascalon. After the Searing, he continued his research on undead minions, but his eager desire for knowledge caused him to use forbidden practices to increase the speed of his research. Because of this he became an outcast of his necromantic order and formed his own guild.

[edit] Notes
- Verata shares his model with the Master of Conditions.
- In Kessex Peak, he is surrounded by many groups of his followers (members and officers of the Cult of Verata); careful pulling is a must to prevent being overwhelmed.
- There is a chance he won't appear while the quest The Villainy of Galrath is active.
[edit] Trivia
- Like Jarrel the Tamer and Van the Warrior, Verata has a completely different appearance after the searing.
- In Post-searing he wears Necromancer Krytan armor dyed orange.
- This NPC has three Skills named after him: Verata's Aura, Verata's Gaze and Verata's Sacrifice. A fourth skill, Verata's Promise, was removed before the final release of Nightfall. This number of eponymous skills is exceeded only by Teinai.
