[edit] Having troubles.

Hi, I used to have a Wiki account but then it accidentally got deleted. On the old account I had many pictures that I had found off the GWW site, but I cannot find that page anymore. The page was a blank page with many different links that lead to images. You might not know what i am talking about, but if you do, can you please help me find that page. Thank you. (If I have not entered this in the correct format, I am sorry, I haven't been on in a while.) --User:Zaroc The Evil

Your wiki account cannot get deleted. Your user page may get deleted if it violated policy in some ways, but they're usually trimmed or edited rather than removed entirely. I can help you find that page, but only if you actually tell me the name of the page you're looking for or the name of your previous account. -- ab.er.rant 15:38, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

(Fits the headline, but not the resulting topic, so new topic, same headline :P)
It seems that you are (from reading this) in favor of proper mechanical and technical categorization, so I have a question/possible favor. I am butting heads with some people on this: Wyn, who honestly seems to try to be helpful to people, and Shard (judging by his posts on many different talk pages) who appears to think anyone who doesn't know or think the way he (I am guessing he) does is effectively brain-dead, and should be beaten until senseless about it, and some others as well.

Anyway, the question/disagreement is over the adding of a couple of relevant categories to certain pages, specifically Category:NPCs with elite skill and Category:Drops unique. I am for the use of these categories, and have expressed my reasons on the specific talk pages, although the same points cover both, in my mind.

My "favor", if you happen to agree with my argument for having these categories, is to have you post your opinion on the respective talk pages, and help keep these applicable and relevant categories in use.

[edit] I'd like to copy elements of your characters page

  • Is that alright? --Chiaro 03:10, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Sure is :) -- ab.er.rant 05:55, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Font question

Is there a list of usable fonts (e.g.:Ariel, Verdana, Kristen ITC...), or something along the lines of that? Or is there a certain type of rule, like "all fonts in Word 2003"? I'm trying to create a page, and I need the font to be different. Tried searching through user signatures, but couldn't find one that didn't bother the eyes too much in large amounts of text. Thanks in advance. Titani Ertan contributions 22:50, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

There isn't such a list. Fonts are restricted by what available on the reader's computer. If you want your page to be seen by everyone as you designed it, then you're gonna have to limit yourself to fonts that are usually found on most Windows machines. -- ab.er.rant 03:05, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Guild Archived?

Hi, my pve guild page has been archived. Listed as no known guild of that, which isn't true. We have a number of active members who play everyday. How can I get that page reinstated? The guild is Sliver Wings [Wing]. Thanks. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.21.232.40 (talk).

I'll reinstate it. The archival of old guild pages is just a mechanism we use to try and filter out guilds that may no longer exist or are inactive. -- ab.er.rant 03:05, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] New version of the Progress bar template

Hi! This is still a "beta" version, so I put it in my userspace: User:Funky Jah/Templates/Progress bar evolved. I would really appreciate your feedback on this before moving it to the template namespace. Please put down any remark on the template's discussion page, so that I can handle the changes I will probably have to make. Thanks. --Funky Jah (talk) Image:User_Funky_Jah_icon.jpg 13:09, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Navigation Templates

Here there is a question about wrapping in the navigation templates (seems to only impact IE8). Do you think you could assist in a resolution? --Freedom Bound 19:07, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Freedom, I posted a response to this comment in the talk page you referenced. Hope that helps. 42 - talk 20:04, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Did you

Make this? --neshot 12:37, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Nope. I don't use Mac. Notice that guy doesn't have neither the "80" suffix nor the 2 dots in the name :D -- ab.er.rant 00:36, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Hey, it could have been. =P --neshot 09:22, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Pass

Hi! I have forgotten the password. Used password restoration, but it has not come. Has passed 30-37 hours. In a support service I have addressed but there all are silent and are silent. Help me! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 94.141.173.79 (talk).

Sorry, me and the other users here on this wiki are not employed by ArenaNet so we can't help you. You will need to contact support. When you say "there all are silent", I assume that you already did raise a support issue? Wait a few days for the support staff to reply, but if they don't, send another; just remember to quote the previous support issue number. You will find more info on the FAQ. -- ab.er.rant 05:34, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] October 2009 bureaucrat election

You probably won't notice unless someone pings you on your talk page; so here I am: You were nominated. poke | talk 16:33, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

You're right, I didn't notice :D Thanks. -- ab.er.rant 00:54, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
On a related note, i think being out of touch with the community would be actually a pretty good reason for running for bureaucrat. Guaranteed neutrality :).--Fighterdoken 01:01, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
Well... that's true I suppose, but there are better candidates up for grabs I think. Those a bit more passionate about this community atm. -- ab.er.rant 01:04, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Guardian Henchman

you redirected it to itself... — Balistic 03:41, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

I know, fixed it already. Thanks for noticing. -- ab.er.rant 03:42, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] I want to steal your userpage.

But its so damn complicated. Wanna make is simpler for me? DarkMugen 17:07, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Heh, sorry, I went a little overboard with templating. Basically, each major section (i.e. box) is one template. Then the black bars are a template too, so I can modify all of them with one edit (but... I never did). You can start by copying the whole thing from my main user page, and then filling in the missing ones as you go. You can see a list of pages in my namespace from this, but it's easier to copy the main page and then just copy missing pages one by one. That way, you'll be able to see how the templates fit together (and how better to do any changes you'd want). -- ab.er.rant 23:54, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Or you can use the code, the templates output, and use that as your base. I have expanded the templates here, so you can simply press edit and see the whole code :) That is probably easier than browsing through complicated templates. poke | talk 10:31, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Interesting... I'm curious as to how exactly did you expand it... -- ab.er.rant 13:44, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
I believe there was a special page for expanding templates before, but this time I did it with "action=raw&templates=expand" as parameters to index.php. poke | talk 20:39, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Nice. Didn't know that. -- ab.er.rant 23:33, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Is there a difference?

When you change Image: to File:? - J.P.Talk 09:40, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

Nope, no functional difference; at least afaik. It's just the more appropriately-named namespace introduced in MediaWiki 1.14. -- ab.er.rant 09:56, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

[edit] If my account ever actually contributes like that

Go ahead and perma-ban me, I've lost my mind, or I've been hacked. -- FreedomBound 20:14, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Good thing you noticed :D, sorry bout that. I suck at history trawling. -- ab.er.rant 07:45, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
