My
fiance introduced me to Guild Wars by surprising me with Prophecies as a birthday gift in November 2006. I quickly became addicted to the game and was soon the proud owner of all three campaigns. My prior addictions were Never Winter Nights and Elder Scrolls. I've been in the online gaming world since 2001, having started with war strategy games such as Utopia and Orkfia, and other games such as Diablo, Ultima Onlne, and Kingdom of Loathing.
Oh, what a hard time I have trying to keep focused on one character because there is so much I wish to experience! I move back and forth between my characters, having a total of twenty (some of which are mules since I'm such a packrat).
I took the Bartle test out of curiosity regarding its view on what I enjoy most about games. The results were most interesting since I dislike PvP and am extremely shy:
- AESK players are interested in the player-versus-environment aspect of the game more than anything else. They are often soloists who want to achieve and see what the world has to offer. Often, they find groups cumbersome and PVP to be more an annoyance than a feature. (Breakdown: Achiever 80.00%, Explorer 73.33%, Killer 13.33%, Socializer 46.67%)
Note: I took a sabbatical from March 2007 till November 2007 (about 8-9 months), and recently started playing again around mid-November after buying Eye of the North. Towards the end of November I created Hok Ah Ei, a sweet but deadly Ranger, who became my favourite character.
