Talk:Protector's Defense
From Guild Wars Wiki
So, any plans to make this useful? The incredibly small range, restriction on moving and minimal coverage (about 1/3rd of the time) leave a lot to be desired.

- I like the skill on my tactic war, but it is really hard to use since it ends on movement. I end up breaking it when the character auto follows an enemy to hit with a weapon. Would be a lot easier to use if it was like a defensive aura around me, so I could still move and stab thingies, or help protect the monk who still insists on moving. - Elder Angelus 17:44, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Not a Stance?
So, I can use this with, say, Frenzy?

- As long as you don't move, sure. -- Halogod35

- I think this skill is underrated. I've been using this on a whim, and it's not half bad. Of course, having to remember not to move took some getting used to, but it's never really been a huge drawback; how often are you trying to block/kite at the same time, or trying to block/chase something at the same time? I've saved my monk's ass a few times with this (Never got a "thank you", though.), and my own ass a few more times. Chaining this skill would be FTW (I'm thinking Smiteball or Ele Ball). The only thing I had a problem with was teammates running out of range, but once I explained that hey, standing next to me makes melee not hurt so much, it wasn't really an issue. Decent skill, IMO.

i been using this in FA on my traper ranger. sexy skill. Spike trap, Dust Trap, Flame Trap, Healing Spring, Trappers' speed, Protectors Def, Dodge, Unguent. Gives me decent dmg with a defensive edge in blind, AoE healing and aoe blocking. And i can keep trappers speed up cause protectors defense is a skill not a stance--Justice 19:36, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- A decent skill that works well with any profession with ranged attack. Funny enough, warriors have very little use for it, but with rangers/ paragons or monks it's pure gold. SamoK 13:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Since the description doesn't really say...
does this also affect the user? 24.233.254.51 22:11, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
