[edit] "Blank insignia" armor is not clearly marked
When I purchased Obsidian Armor for my elementalist, I realized that the "blank insignia" version is not clearly marked as such in the Eternal Forgemaster's crafting list. It's simply labeled "Elementalist's Obsidian Armor"; the description at the bottom of the crafting window doesn't say anything about an insignia slot. This is probably true of Obisidian armor for other professions -- I haven't checked. Since the absence of "blank insignia" in the crafter's description is potentially confusing, someone may want to add a note/warning about it in the article. M47715c00l 23:53, 13 April 2007 (EDT)
- Each article has each available bonus type listed in the crafting table. It only takes a little cross-checking to figure out that the insignia armor is the only one in the crafter screen without a bonus, and there is no blank armor listed in the crafting tables. - BeXoR 01:52, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
- I think a note would be helpful. I would be scared that the "elementalist obsidian armor" would be a non-insignia one if I were to ever buy obsidian armor :P Maybe just add a small note to this page? Or do we need it on every profession obsidian armor page? - Anja Astor

In my oppinion, ranger obsidian looks like starter armor. Seriously. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:71.35.174.122 .

- If you ask me, Obsidian Armor is with few exceptions one of the lamest 15k sets to get. It's not immediately recognizable, most of em look incredibly plain, even to the point of being confusable with 1k Drok's or something. Totally not worth it, IMO. KrelusDerian 01:33, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Then don't buy it. -Auron 01:34, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- All Obsidian Monk, Elementalist, Paragon and the female Mesmer armors are very well done imo. The others disappoint imo. Hyper 00:13, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oh and don't forget about the Obsidian Ritualist armours... 213.233.92.218 13:19, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] My meaning:
I think that this armor is a strange set cuz it has an.......just strange look.--DOHF 15:58, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
could someone post what materials are needed to craft FoW armor. 74.196.205.207 21:23, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Click the links for each profession; the materials and cost are all listed there. --

[edit] Salvage?
Anyone know what salvages from the armor? (dust, shards, ectos, ...) Thanks, --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:PVX:Goodnight L A (talk).
- I just salvaged my warrior's FoW gloves on accident, I got 46 Iron Ingots. 71.80.215.163 07:08, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Bad
Why can't Anet make this armor worth the price, it costs so much but still looks very bad, look at the ranger or warrior armors for instance. The only decent ones are the Paragon's and the Ritualist's. --Soulforged 08:20, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- "hurr i cant afford it so have to overcompensate on wiki"
- --Jette

- Yes, i can afford it, but i'd rather spend my gold on 3 better elite armors than this one. I think the armor design team could've come up with better armor arts for such an expensive set. --Soulforged

[edit] 750k-900k?
The article said that Obsidian armor is the most expensive in the game, costing from 750
to 900
. As with most prestige armor, however, it costs 75
to craft the entire set. You cannot trade armor, since it is customized when you craft it, so I assume the original author meant that purchasing the materials for it makes it that expensive. Since this was a little obscure, I edited it to being the 'most difficult armor to obtain, due to rarity of materials.' If anyone has any objection to that, feel free to edit the article again, and please explain what I didn't understand. Thanks! --Kohan 01:38, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's not the most difficult armor to obtain, it takes longer to grind out EotN titles than it does to get 105 ectos. -Jette

- Eotn titles are sooooooooooo easy; it's called hero's handbook, that got me from 3-5, and guess what, 5 is what you need for armor. I got to it from regular quests and one normal mode hero's handbook 96.245.211.38 01:17, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- So when do you plan on maxing the titles? EotN titles take a lot longer than getting the materials for Obby Armour. King Neoterikos 01:49, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Is It Hard To Get There ?
Please someone tell me is it hard to get there ? Or if anyone could help me get this armour (I have the materials needed) please help me. Thank you ! :) Tiberium 11:05, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- I don't understand how you could possibly have the materials and money necessary to get there and not know enough about the Fissure to craft it yourself. I remember back in the day before completing the Fissure or Underworld yielded immediate rewards, I was part of approximately 0.1% of the population that knew anything about it besides "hurr don't take the quest," but nowadays, if you're managed to collect the materials necessary, you should know how to get the armor. --Jette

- better answer is that 90% of some-what organized pugs should get there fine.--66.66.95.26 16:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- "organized pugs"
- You don't play much, do ya? --Jette
17:04, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's not hard to get there as long as you have a decent team, of course it's not easy as regular explorable areas but like i said before if you have a decent team it shouldn't be a problem. --Soulforged

[edit] I know why this armor sucks!
I've figured out why this armor lacks intricacy, save for a few sets. I know why this armor is so bland. Everything we put into HoM gives us a unique reward in Guild Wars 2... so all Obsidian armor we put into HoM will give us the most amazing armor ever in Guild Wars 2. Quick, everyone, break out all your ectos! --Aldarik 17:30, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

W/ a capital "J". Anyway, the male ele armor looks fine. it looks nothing like pre armor. Well, maybe something like it, but of course it would have to be in the same theme as other ele armors, right? It looks better, regardless.
