There was a proposal going around to change the way people progress in the gladiator title. Go to this discussion page if you want more info. By the looks of things, they went with proposal one. I don't know if title progression works that way though, I'm still downloading the update. :S (Terra Xin 22:50, 23 August 2007 (UTC))

Many people at HA, only let others that has a certain r(better know as RANK=Gladiator Rank)to participate, no offense but thats bull. The function of a build doesn't change no matter what's the user, only if the user knows how to use it. "r4+", wtf? Why would some people need that?--ShadowFog 16:31, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Normally in HA they'll be talking about hero rank, not gladiator rank when asking for r4+ etc. Many teams will take gladiator ranks but they tend to be valued higher. rank 3 gladiator is often taken for entry into a rank 5 or 6 hero HA team. As to why they do it, its because they feel it gives them a better chance of winning, there are numerous flame-threads on the forums as to whether they're right or not. PublicHero The Gladiator title, like the hero title is imo to high capped, i think we should have a better chance in maxing these titles instead of having the high end geeks bumming HA and TA at every chance they get to a title worth the same as any other title. Luxon & Kurzick titles are now insanely easy to max out in comparison, i think the gladiator and hero titles should be atleast smaller capped.PublicHero

personally i don't like that either. it makes it hard for people with a lower rank (r2 and down) to get a team. but that also has something to do with the fact you can't show your title until r3. personally i'm only r1 with 41 fame and thats from doing HA with guildies and friends. the tough part is when you don't have enough ppl and have to pug the rest, those ppl expect a ranked team. if everyone isnt r3 they leave. well, this would only be good if ppl from ra would have a chance in ta, or you could advance further than 10 wins(generally), so you could actually gain points like 4 in order.. or you could gain points by achieving something within the arena(3 successful interrupts in order, win under 1:30 mins(not counting resign or an enemy leaving), or things like that, but of course well thought out and tested), atm its a grindfest which proves lena's(as always) and the ip's point wrong since grindfests are bad, especially if you need to do so in order to enter some good(or at least high ranked) group. - Wuhy 01:22, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Gladiator rank affects gold drops. Like 1% chance of better drops for every rank. or according to some kid in my guild, who claims to be friends with a game designer.
