Talk:Bladeturn Refrain

Has anyone tried this for PVP? Wondering if it does any good against warriors, dervs, and maybe some assassins? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:75.171.235.138 (talk).
- No, but it probably would be effective. Calor

- It can't be very useful, as most damage is elemental/armor-ignoring (from casters) and this can only prevent a lot of damage from axe and sword warriors or dervishes. Ninjas In The Sky 08:46, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- And they can use elemental weapons. And a lot of dervish enchants and avatars change damage type to non-physical. --195.210.243.205 12:11, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's almost worth it just because you can precast on monks and other squishies before pvp battle and maintain without worrying about it being removed. Okay, there are plenty of ways this could be ineffective, but it's not even an elite and it is potentially one less thing monks have to worry about. --93.39.34.120 14:50, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- This skill isn't too bad now. You can keep it up on the entire party permanently, and that adds up to a lot of damage reduction.

- In pvp, there are two problems with this skill. In unorganized PvP, you'll have issues maintaining it because you can only rely on yourself to have shouts to refresh it, and can only refresh it on allies within shout range. In organized PvP, as soon as one enemy spots it, the ones that do slashing damage will swap to elemental weapons. But I guess that can have it's own benefits if you use skills like ward against elements.
- The block chance is too little to prevent much of anything TBH. In my mind, it was more useful pre-update. 68.58.91.59 01:33, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
