Rare crafting material

There are two categories of crafting materials: common and rare.
Rare crafting materials are items used in the creation of equipment, such as armor or weapons. While cheaper early-campaign items are often craftable using only common materials, all craftable top-level "max" items and elite items require rare materials. Rare crafting materials can be obtained in numerous ways. They can be purchased from traders, created by artisans, obtained as loot or salvaged from items.

- Prior to the May 29, 2008 game update, some artisans carried a recipe for a rare salvage item "Clay Brick". However, there is no record of their common salvage ingredient, "Bricks of Mud", ever being obtained, and there was no known use for either item. Neither were ever given a slot in the Xunlai materials storage.
