[edit] Dialogue
Well, well! It's [Character Name]. I've got an eye for talent, and the other Asura trust my judgment when it comes to evaluating people for their krewes. If you impress me, you might just have a place here. Listen, bring me written evidence of your great deeds, because there are benefits from increasing your reputation.
Do that sort of thing enough and you'll even earn Hero skill points, which you can spend to teach your Heroes new skills.
- ⇒ That sounds great! How can I improve my reputation among the Asura?
- "Try to make yourself useful to any Asura you encounter. Your kind can be especially handy aiding krewe members who often need someone to provide a little brute force...or perhaps a willing test subject. And, don't forget, written evidence of your achievements will go a long way toward improving your reputation."
- ⇒ Written evidence? (same as below)
- ⇒ I'm interested in skills for my heroes.
- So you and your Heroes are ready to learn something new are you? Don't worry. I'll explain things slowly, bookah. Which profession are you interested in? (# Hero Skill points remaining.)
- ... standard hero skill trainer dialogue options ...
- ⇒ Written evidence?
- "Accomplishments are recorded in your Master Dungeon Guide only if you're carrying the book in your inventory when you achieve them. I see your Master Dungeon Guide is missing # pages for things you've accomplished. I can add these unwritten tales for # gold. That way, you won't need to repeat anything you've already done. (if a Master Dungeon Guide has entries which can be filled in)
- Yes, you can track your progress while aiding Vekk by keeping a Hero's Handbook, or you can record your achievements below ground in a Master Dungeon Guide'
- I can provide you with blank copies of either of these books. No doubt there are other books out there to show your prowess and skill, but you'll need to find those on your own. (if no books have entries which can be filled in)
Look at my Hero's Handbook. (if a book that is at least half filled out is in inventory)
- Hmm. Yes, this looks in order. When others see this Hero's Handbook, your reputation with the Asura will surely grow! You'll have to surrender the book to me, though. In exchange, you will earn:
- [#] Asura reputation points
- [#] Gold
- [#] Experience

- You have completed [xx] of [xx] pages in the Hero's Handbook [Hard Mode]. If you give me this book, I will see to it that other Asura hear of your accomplishments. In exchange, you will earn:

I would like an empty Hero's Handbook. (if no such book in inventory)

Your kind can be especially handy aiding krewe members who often need someone to provide a little brute force...or perhaps a willing test subject. And, don't forget, written evidence of your achievements will go a long way toward improving your reputation."

Alternate dialogue when providing Edification:
- Well done, my friend. You're now considered [Asura title] by most Asura. If you display this title in our territories, your maximum Energy will be higher than normal as a result of the edifying influence we have on creatures such as you.
After reaching rank 10:
- Listen, friend, your reputation couldn't be any higher. Why, you're practically an honorary Asura!
[edit] Notes
- In order to prompt visiting Lexx once eligible for Edification, the normal dialogue for providers of Asuran Bodyguard is extended with this:
- Your reputation for competence is unusual for a human. It's hard to believe a bookah capable of such things; practically inconceivable, if you even know what that word means. Just to make sure everything checks out, talk to Lexx [Asuran Talent Scout] in Rata Sum. He can sort reputation from reality.
[edit] Trivia
- Lexx may be named after the science-fiction series Lexx.
