[edit] Empty Quarter Newhole [EQN]

Empty Quarter Newhole [EQN] originated in the Australian Natural Selection community as a joke clan. The target of the prank was the admin team of a server who wore a similar tag (one letter was different). The tags were so similar that EQN players were often mistaken for admins and the name was thought up on the spot when the real admins demanded the meaning of the clan name and questioned its authenticity. Members were recruited with only one requirement - that they sing a song over voice chat (one favourite was the classic childrens' tune "Wheels on the Bus").

A core group of EQN players joined together to form the guild on January 6th, 2006. The guild was created in the European territory, before the guild members switched to the US territory, in hopes of better pings. The guild size has grown and shrunk over time, with a handful of die-hard Guild Wars players remaining steadfast throughout.
