[edit] Overview
- Kourna
- Arkjok Ward can be a good place to get SS points early on in Kourna.
- Vabbi
- Holdings of Chokhin is a very efficient run in Hard Mode because of two plant bosses.
- The Desolation
- The Sulfurous Wastes has 2 runs that are very easy in HM because you're in the Junundu.
[edit] Kourna
[edit] Arkjok Ward
From Yohlon Haven, exit east into Arkjok Ward and get the Insect Hunt bounty. There are four groups of insects nearby: two groups of 4 to the north, and one group of 4 and a group of 12 to the south. Be careful not to aggro the mandragors just past the large group. This run can be done in as little as 2 minutes with average groups and as little as 1 minute with efficient groups. This run will yield 96 points, so you can get 3168 Sunspear Points per hour.
[edit] Notes
- For this run, you can just grab the blessing, flag your heroes to the locations, and just sit back and chill while they do all the work. Then, collect any good drops, and rezone!
- There is an interesting side effect to this run. Sunspear points, coupled with a bonus, generate a lot of experience for free. Add a scroll and the generated experience increases even more. The run into Arkjok Ward, from Yohlon Haven, yields 96 sunspear points, but produces only 700 experience points (with a scroll). This is a ratio of 7.3. Adequate planning in areas like Marga Coast produces runs with a ratio of 17 to 18. Example: Get the Insect, Skale and Plant Hunt bounties without contacting local lifeforms. Don’t bother taking the Kournan Bounty… it’s too low level, takes more time to kill and a waste of sunspear points. (note: there's no Corsair bounty!) Run from Nundu Bay with a 5 minutes scroll (Hunter’s Insight) clockwise along the north – clean out the place and turn back towards Lunto Sharpfoot – continue by going south and following the coast towards the east - finish by doing some damage to insects near Yohlon Haven. These runs need only 1 scroll, yield approximately 650 sunspear points and generate 11,000 - 12,000 experience points at low risk for a moderate group (6 characters level 20.)
[edit] Vabbi
[edit] Holdings of Chokhin
This run is quite efficient in Hard Mode due to the presence of two plant bosses. From Mihanu Township, exit north into the Holdings of Chokhin and pick up the Plant Hunt bounty. Follow the canyon north until you reach a large open area with a large number of plants running around. Work your way in a counter-clockwise manner and be careful, in the southeast corner is the elementalist plant boss Setikor Fireflower who can hit 400+ damage with Lightning Surge in hard mode. Melee units should keep in mind that the Enchanted Brambles are capable of layering devastating conditions very rapidly. It is advised to take some sort of counter for blind and cripple, such as Assassin's Remedy. Head through the canyon to the west and go in another counter-clockwise circle. Make sure you get the monk boss Banor Greenbranch, just northwest of the resurrection shrine. This run takes about 10 minutes and yields around 976 points per run, which is approximately 5850 points/hour.
[edit] Yatendi Canyons
This is a fairly simple run that gives you about 150 points for each run. Head out from Chantry of secrets and get the bounty. Follow the path southwest across the first bridge, then cut across the field to the second. The run usually takes about 4 minutes. This translates into 2250 points per hour.
[edit] The Desolation
[edit] The Sulfurous Wastes
There are two runs for Sunspear points in this area, both of which are easily done in Hard Mode, even with only heroes/henchmen, because the party will be traveling inside Junundu wurms.
[edit] From Gate of Desolation
Exit to the north and take the Undead Hunt bounty (point 1 on map). Go northeast to the Wurm Spoor, avoiding the small Djinn patrol (2). Continue to the north into the sulfur and you will find a group of Awakened (3). Past them to the northwest is another group, along with a few elemental pairs (4). Next, go west past the wurm spoor for another group (5), which should put you over the bonus limit of 25 undead creatures killed. Turn back and head south onto the plateau to take on Vahlen the Silent and his group (6). There is a final group of Awakened at (7), but the time required to reach and kill them will decrease the efficiency of this run. This run will net you around 576 points and takes about 5 minutes, which is approximately 6912 points/hour.
[edit] From Remains of Sahlahja
This combines extremely well with Lightbringer points farming in the same area. Head east and get the Undead Hunt bounty (1), then head south to the Wurm Spoor (2). There are two groups of Awakened immediately to the south and west (3 & 4). If a Desert Wurm appears, near the first group, simply ignore it. Head west then south through a canyon, ignoring the Margonites on the cliffs, to find a third group of Awakened (5), with a fourth group just to the east. Continue south almost to the Monolith Temple (again ignoring the Sand Wurm if one appears), where you will encounter the last group (9) which includes the ritualist boss Alem the Unclean. This run this will net you over 570 points and takes about 7 minutes, which is approximately 4800 points/hour.
