This is one of the three quests given by Image of Zinn from the Golem User Manual. This one deals with neutralizing P.O.X. and retrieving its power crystal. The Jade Brotherhood purchased the P.O.X. golem to use as a weapon in their war against the Am Fah. However, P.O.X.'s original programming could activate at any time, causing it to complete its ultimate objective: assassinate the Emperor Kisu. According to Zinn, the accidental creator of this killer golem, the P.O.X. model has built-in boosters allowing him to reach the Imperial Sanctum in a matter of seconds! You must deactivate the golem before the program kicks in. Seek out a guardsmen in the Marketplace for help finding the Jade Brotherhood compound.

[edit] Walkthrough

Follow your new Jade Brotherhood allies and assist them in killing the Am Fah. Head West along the shore and cross the bridge to the island with Lian, Dragon's Petal. Defend against the onslaught of the Am Fah. After they have been killed head west again towards the area with the two bosses and their mobs. Be careful of drop-downs on the way. Then head North-West towards P.O.X. and the Jade Brotherhood that purchased it. Simply attack P.O.X to 20% hp and take the crystal to end the mission.

If you are doing this quest with heroes/henchmen, it is recommended that you take a Minion Master, as the many minions will provide a buffer zone to protect your healer/casters from the numerous Am Fah Assassins. Also, for the last battle against the P.O.X golem, it is recommended that you take an interrupt hero to stop the golem from using Reactor Blast, which could easily wipe the whole party if it is not prepared. When using henchmen, a fool-proof way of defeating P.O.X. is that when it starts casting his Reactor Blast skill, flag all henchmen/heroes away, using the minimap. After the casting is finished, just remove the flag and let them return.

Note: P.O.X. cannot be knocked down.

It is possible to run past all the Am Fah mobs and run straight to P.O.X.. The fight with P.O.X. will trigger normally, and the quest will be complete after defeating P.O.X.. It is recommended to use party-wide running skills, such as "Charge!", to bypass the Am Fah easily. After P.O.X. is defeated and everyone has collected the power crystal, the "mission completed" countdown may not appear, but the quest is properly completed.

[edit] Intermediate dialogue

In the Marketplace:

Guardsman Makuruyo
The Jade Brotherhood is up to something!
When is the Jade Brotherhood not up to something? The war with the Am Fah has spilled onto every street lately. I spend more time cleaning up the bloody remains of their battles than anything else. What sort of trouble are they up to now?
They have a weapon. I need to infiltrate their ranks to disarm it.
We have heard rumours of some sort of weapon purchased from an outside source. Our own spies use spare Jade Brotherhood clothes collected from corpses after their battles to get on the inside.'
Can we use some Jade brotherhood outfits to sneak into their headquarters?
We certainly have enough outfits to spare. We mop up corpses from their battles every day. Must keep the streets clean, you know. Take as many as you need...anything to help disrupt this rampant gang activity. Be careful, though. Wajjun Bazaar is a war zone! While you wear those outfits, the Am Fah will attack you on sight. Good luck. You are awfully brave to walk into the middle of that mess.
Yes We are ready to infiltrate the Jade Brotherhood. (sent to Wajjun Bazaar (P.O.X.))
No Thanks for the chat, but I have to run.

No Thanks for the chat, but I have to run.

Upon entry into Wajjun Bazaar:

Jade Brotherhood Knight: "Reinforcements! Thank goodness. Find an Am Fah skull and crack it."
Am Fah Necromancer: "The only broken skulls around here will be yours! ATTACK!"

Approaching the recruits:

Canthan Peasants: Those Am Fah thus are scary!
Canthan Peasants: Let's get out of here before more of the Am Fah come!
Canthan Peasants: You are no better than the Am Fah!
Jade Brotherhood Knight: "More Am Fah sewer rats coming from the west!"

Approaching Lian across the bridge:

Jade Brotherhood Mesmer: "Defend the headquarters! Am Fah are everywhere!"

Approaching the scene of the duel:

Am Fah Assassin: "The Jade Brotherhood do not honor the rules of a duel, kill them!"

If you let Lou and Wing duel and Wing dies:

Jade Brotherhood Knight: "We must avenge Wing! Kill every last Am Fah!"

Passing the last pair of guards, with non-human henchmen or heroes:

Jade Brotherhood Ritualist: "Non-humans in the Brotherhood? We take anyone in these days it seems."

Approaching P.O.X.:

Jade Brotherhood Knight: "M'Lord, the Am Fah have swarmed the headquarters. They surround us!"
Jade Brotherhood Lord: "I had hoped to save our weapon for the ultimate attack on the Am Fah headquarters. Clearly we cannot wait."
Jade Brotherhood Lord: "Activate the golem."
P.O.X.: "*ALL SYS-TEMS NOR-MAL, P.O.X. AC-TIVE.*"
Jade Brotherhood Lord: "P.O.X., destroy the Am Fah! Protect our headquarters!"
P.O.X.: "*IN-VA-LID DI-REC-TIVE, COM-MAND FAIL-ED.*"
Jade Brotherhood Knight: "The golem has gone haywire. Run for it!"

Arrival of more JBs:

Jade Brotherhood Knight: "Am Fah spies come to destroy our golem...Get them!"

[edit] Reward dialogue

P.O.X.

P.O.X. appears fully deactivated. You reach out and open up his control panel. Inside lies the golem's power crystal. It emits a strange buzzing sound and vibrates erratically, almost as if something is trying to escape. This is the object Zinn requires. You only need to reach out and take it.

[edit] Notes

  • Throughout this mission you will be under the effects of Jade Brotherhood Disguise and all Jade Brotherhood will be friendly towards you.
  • After P.O.X. goes haywire the disguise will wear off and you will be set upon by the Jade Brotherhood.
  • It is possible to capture elite skills from the brotherhood boss NPCs when they die.
  • Whenever you pass by Jade Brotherhood guards while under the disguise, they do the /salute emote.
  • The map denotes this location as Waijun Bazaar, instead of Wajjun Bazaar.
  • M.O.X. is not required to be in your party for this quest.
  • If a Jade Brotherhood boss dies, you will still gain a morale boost even though they are your allies.
  • Non-human heroes and henchmen (with the exception of Razah) will not receive the Jade Brotherhood Disguise effect.
  • This quest is obtained automatically after accepting Zinn's Task. If it is abandoned, it can be re-obtained by asking Image of Zinn about the Zinn's Task quest. The initial dialogue can only be seen in the quest log, and it has no accept, decline or when asked about dialogue.
  • Sometimes, an Am Fah assasin will not attack if attacked by range.
