Ascalon Vanguard

The Ascalon Vanguard is the Elite force under the command of Prince Rurik. They follow the prince around continuously and even follow him into the Shiverpeaks and Kryta. They are completely independent of the financing and influence of the king. They are small but very powerful and strong. It is believed that Master Armin Saberlin is a part of the Guard since he followed Prince Rurik and the refugees across the Shiverpeak Mountains. The player, upon choosing a secondary profession and initiating the Searing, becomes part of this fighting force until they are employed by the White Mantle when they reach Kryta.
