Ascalon City is the largest city and cultural center of Ascalon. It is the first town a player will reach after the Searing.

• Ashkelon was a large and important seaport in ancient Canaan. Its name was later corrupted to "Ascalon" by the English Crusaders. The "Battle of Ascalon" is generally considered to be the last battle of the First Crusade. It was finally destroyed for the last time in 1270 A.D. by the Mamluks. The ruins rest in what is now Israel's South District.
• The image on the wall near Warmaster Tydus bears some resemblance to Kuunavang. It may also be of the Forgotten, as the same image was used in the Prophecies Manuscripts while mentioning them.
• In the Bible, Douay Rheims Edition, The Book of Judges, Chapter 1, verse 18, there is a city metioned, named Ascalon. The city was captured by the Israelites, who destroyed the cities they captured with fire.
