Ancient Seers are apparently elder Seers found in remote locations on the Ring of Fire Islands. The Ancient Seer found in the Ring of Fire and Abaddon's Mouth missions offer the ability to infuse player armor against Spectral Agony, while the one found in Hell's Precipice does not.

Ring of Fire:

"We meet again. I have tracked another Eidolon to this location. It feasts on the arcane energies of the Mursaat towers.

It lurks underground, wallowing in the residual magic. But if the towers were destroyed, the creature would reveal itself. Destroy the Eidolon and bring me its essence."

I'll take care of it.

Decline

"Destroy a large concentration of towers, and the Eidolon will come looking for more arcane energy. When it rises, it will be vunerable."

I'll take care of it.

"If you bring me back the Spectral Essence of the Eidolon, I can infuse your armor to protect you from the Mursaat."

I'll take care of it.

"You defeated the Eidolon. Well done.

There is enough Spectral Essence here for everyone to get one set of armor infused."

Accept

I'm sorry. I have other things I must do.

"You have no more armor I can infuse. You are now on even footing with the Mursaat."
