Spam

To spam is to rapidly and unconditionally repeat an action. Spam (or spamming) is usually used in one of two contexts in Guild Wars:

  • Skill spamming is the repeated use of certain skills for a period of time to increase damage or other effects. Players may sometimes use Echo, Arcane Echo, duplicate skills, and/or related methods to effectively lower the skills' recharge time.
  • Chat spamming is the very rapid sending of messages, whether to repeat the same message or send different ones. Spamming can easily fill a player's chat window, perhaps causing them to miss other messages, and many players frown upon it.
    • Chat spamming is against the Guild Wars User Agreement. Players reported for chat spamming may be temporarily banned at ArenaNet's discretion. The content of the repeated message(s) is not a factor in determining whether or not something is spam.
