Inventory
From Guild Wars Wiki
The inventory is the listing of all the items in the character's backpack and on person. The amount of gold and platinum being carried is also listed. It can be quickly accessed by striking the "I" key on your keyboard.
Layout
The screenshot to the right shows a standard inventory window. The numbered items below correspond with the numbers marked on the screenshot.
- Hero slots - Use these icons to select and access the equipped items of your character and any heroes in your party.
- Cape - If you are in a guild, you can choose when to show or hide your cape.
- Headgear - Toggle whether your headgear is visible on your character.
- Armor - Your character's equipped armor pieces.
- Weapons - Your character's equipped weapon and offhand item.
- Money - The amount of gold and platinum your character is currently carrying.
- Weapon sets - Controls how many weapon sets are available and shown on your user interface.
- Item containers - The item containers that can be equipped on your character (from left to right: backpack, belt pouch, two bags, and one equipment pack).
- Destroy item - Drag an item onto this icon to destroy or delete an item permanently. A deleted item can never be recovered, hence you will be asked for confirmation whenever you try to delete an item.
- Inventory contents - The items in the currently selected item container.
- Character - The selected character or hero (on the hero slots) is shown here. You can rotate the character shown.
- PvP equipment. If you are using a PvP character, you will be able to save and load equipment templates (via the diskette icon) and access the PvP Equipment window (via the button).
Notes
- Items in your inventory are yours as well as your Heroes'; Heroes do not have their own backpacks/pouches/bags.
- Gold will convert to Platinum automatically when you have more than 999 gold. The maximum amount of money you can carry on your character is 100 Platinum.
- You can equip weapons and off hand items onto or off of a Hero from your inventory.
- Offhand weapons can be equipped for both you and your Heroes even if a two handed weapon is already present, so Heroes that use two handed weapons can be used as extra single slot storage for off hand items.
- Items that drop for a Hero are not available to the player, ever. (During lag, it may be possible to see an item drop tag, that swiftly disapears, indicating a drop that was targeted to a Hero.)
- Function keys F5, F6, F7 & F8 will display each of the individual backpack/pouch/bag contents and the character interface above.
- Function key F9 will show all of the inventory but not the character interface, weapon slots or money. Nor does it show items located in equipment packs.
- If you have a full inventory and a NPC wants to give an item to you, you will receive a blue error message in the log "{NPC} tries to hands you a {item}, but your inventory is full". The NPC dialogue will be "Your inventory is full. Please make room and speak to me again".
- Note that an item can not be regained after deletion in the trash bin, so make sure you wish to do this.
- Containers are dyeable.
